Orthography

In linguistics, approximately 400 orthographies exist today. Each orthography can be classified as alphabetic, such as English, etc, or non-alphabetic, such as Chinese, etc. Alphabetic languages are easier to pronounce than non-alphabetic languages. However, there are still some exceptions (irregularities of spelling vs sound) and (shallow orthography vs deep orthography) in these languages. What exceptions (irregularities) can you think of in your language?
