A preposition is one of the parts of speech with nouns, pronouns, and phrases to show the directions, places, time or to introduce an object, etc.

There are some words that can be both conjunctions and prepositions and vice versa. There are certain subordinating conjunctions which are also prepositions. Some such examples are: before, after, until, since, etc.
